Launched in 1999, the Public Art Scheme is one of the major public art projects organised by the Art Promotion Office. Through open competition and invitation, we have installed public artworks at parks, libraries, theatres, city halls and government buildings, in order to embellish the living environment and urban space, providing visitors and users with an opportunity to interact with and appreciate more artworks created by local artists for specific venues.
The open call for artists of Public Art Scheme 2015 ended on 30 January 2016. Four groups of artists have been selected according to the experience and ability to organise and fabricate public artworks, artistic merits of previous works and artistic concepts submitted for the scheme. The selected artists and art groups are:
