InPARK Public Art Scheme — Reframe
Back

Presented by: Leisure and Cultural Services Department
Organised by: Art Promotion Office
Supporting Organisation: Energizing Kowloon East Office
Tsun Yip Street Playground was originally built in 1973, serving mainly the workers in the Kwun Tong industrial area. Through two phases of improvement works in 2014 and 2019, the playground has been transformed into an open-air gallery showcasing industrial culture and art installations, and was renamed "InPARK".
In 2024, Su Chang Design Research Office was commissioned to revitalise the exhibition installations. As a local young architect who was involved in the first phase of improvement works, Su and his team approached this project from their architectural and design perspective, reflecting the transformation of the Kwun Tong community over the past decade while enhancing the public leisure spaces within the park. The architectural design adheres to a "people-oriented" philosophy, integrating spatial design with citizens' daily needs. It aims to create a place that facilitates interactions between people, space, and the city, demonstrating the future of public space in Kwun Tong and Hong Kong.
