2026
Ceramic tiles, mirrors, readymade objects and haze effect

Fusing painting, installation, sculpture, and misting effect, artist Chan Wai-lap constructs a bathhouse environment with narratives that reimagine the subtle interplay between public space and the body through the regeneration of staged scenes. Visitor participation extends beyond passive viewing, transforming personal experience into collective dialogue and turning the intimate bathhouse setting into an open, social arena.
The site-specific installation LEVO LOVE features a pool composed of more than 1,200 handcrafted ceramic tiles at the centre of the exhibition space. Its heart-shaped form evokes immediate associations with love and romance, while also functioning as a spiritual symbol of emotion. Visitors are invited to step into the pool and engage physically with the work, using bodily sensation as a starting point for emotional and contemplative exploration.
Another installation, Chromatic Soap, captures the intimate relationship between soap and the body, highlighting the former’s malleable qualities. The ceramic soaps displayed along the wall metaphorically reflect individual uniqueness within interpersonal relationships, while suggesting the diversity inherent in collective coexistence.
The exhibition space features the timed release of mist, creating a shifting, hazy ambience. This immersive spatial design offers a sensory experience in which reality and illusion continuously intertwine.
