The Hong Kong film Grandmaster touches on the three spiritual levels of martial arts practitioners – Know Oneself, Know Heaven and Earth, and Know All Living Creatures.

For artist Chui Pui Chee and designer Benny Luk, this is aligned with their experience in the process of artistic creation and introspection at various stages of life. This exhibition features 12 groups of calligraphy, typeface design and installation works, showcasing the artists' insights on the three spiritual levels. They share with visitors moments of enlightenment accumulated through time and inspire them to reflect on the nature of the value of life itself.

In Part I of the exhibition, Know Oneself, Chinese calligraphy and typeface design are media used to show the artists' key to mindful sublimation to lead the visitors to gain insights and learn about their true selves. Part II, Know Heaven and Earth, invites visitors to view the world with innate tranquillity and look at the workings of the world from various perspectives through works of visual illusion, Zen meditation chairs and 3D installations. In Part III, Know all Living Creatures, the works combine calligraphy and mixed media to evoke the analogy between the life process and crossing the spiritual sea. Life's ups and downs are the same for everyone but with different rhythms – which leads to the insight that our destiny is only a matter of chance.
