Organised by: Art Promotion Office
Collaborator: Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale Executive Committee
The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale is one of the largest international outdoor art festivals in the world and is held once every three years in the Echigo-Tsumari region of Japan since 2000. Using art as a catalyst, the Triennale provides a platform to present projects and initiatives which aims to reveal existing assets of the region and builds the relationship between human and nature through artistic creation, appreciation and participation.
To offer Hong Kong artists and cross-disciplinary talents the chance to explore the unique history and culture of Echigo-Tsumari region as well as to feature distinctive and abundant nature that has the power to connect various cultures, the APO and the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale Executive Committee jointly called for artwork proposals for the programme from 26 June to 11 August 2023.
Through the joint adjudication panel of Hong Kong and Japan, the following artists’ teams were selected:
2024: Matthew Tsang and Cordelia Tam
2025: Chris Cheung (h0nh1m) and Sim Shum Kwan Yi
2026: Toby Crispy and Mire Yu
