From 2001, vA! has organised the Art Specialist Course for those who are eager to devote themselves into the world of art with an aim to nurture local artists and art audience. Students can receive professional training and practice under supervision which could help them develop their own personal portfolio.
Same as usual, since April last year, instructors of the Art Specialist Course have guided the young artists through a memorable learning journey. Headed by Chui Pui-chee, the Chinese Calligraphy module covers topics from history to theory and aesthetics of Chinese Calligraphy that fortified young artists' spiritual and philosophical understanding of the medium. Danny Lee, the course coordinator of Sculpture Course, gave visionary guidance on different processes in creating sculpture through theoretical and practical training, and introduced the know-how in structural elements, modern sculpture and even the concepts of public sculpture to broaden participants' views.
The fruitful outcomes showed new visions from the 23 newly trained artists, whose works are presented in the graduation exhibition to share their joy of creation.
