vA! Greenery
Back

Artists Tse Yim On and Wong Tin Hang take the banyan stump near the entrance of the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (vA!) as their starting point for an interdisciplinary exploration that combines art, natural science and artificial intelligence. Drawing inspiration from the plant forms, natural surroundings and urban memories of Hong Kong Park, they combine painting, AI-assisted generation, digital modelling and 3D printing to transform observations of nature and artistic imaginings into installations that unfold across various levels of vA!.
The project interweaves the vivid colours and imagined plants in Tse's paintings with forms developed by Wong through botanical observation and digital techniques. Their ongoing creative dialogue encourages mutual inspiration, extending two-dimensional imagery into three-dimensional forms and exploring possibilities for the coexistence of nature and the artificial, as well as the relationship between art and technology. We look forward to welcoming you to experience the traces of natural life, digital reconstruction and an imagined future of human–machine collaboration.
