Ink Flux is a generative ink installation in relation to the site environment which then translates the ambience into an transient landscape as Chinese ink paintings. The artistic practice of Chris Cheung reflects his beliefs in Chinese philosophy, and the merge of the traditional and the futuristic ideas. He founded a creative studio, XCEPT (previously XEX), in 2007 and a new media art group, XCEED, in 2013. The collective works have been showcased worldwide.
Chris Cheung is a local new media artist and curator. Graduated from City University of Hong Kong, New Media and Interactive Art Design, his works including music, technology, imaging and science and other elements, presented in a mixed media. He was awarded the "Award of Young Artist" by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and "36 Designers" by DESIGNNET Design Magazine in South Korea. His new media works also won prizes in the 13th to 15th ifva, (Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards). He established XEX GRP creative studio for interactive new media creation, excel at combining Chinese culture and modern technology.
