workshop: Light Wood Carving
Back

The 'Light Wood Carving' course focuses on cultivating students' hands-on skills and creative thinking in three-dimensional shaping.
Sculpture art and materials are closely related. Understanding different materials and their corresponding shaping techniques is the foundation for creating sculptures. Light woods, such as Balsa Wood, are relatively easy to carve. After carving, sanding, and colouring, they can present a unique aesthetic, making them suitable for beginner learners interested in three-dimensional creation.
This course includes lectures, demonstrations, and creative sessions. Students will learn about the characteristics and malleability of various types of wood and master hand-shaping techniques for cutting and carving lightweight wood. The instructor will guide students through the creative process, allowing them to apply what they have learned and complete their artworks.
