Adonian Chan is a designer of Hong Kong font types, a graphic designer and a musician. He graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University studying Visual Communication at the School of Design. In 2010, he founded a studio, Trilingua Design, with fellow designer Chris Tsui. Later in 2014, he opened up the cultural space and restaurant SYUT with his band tfvsjs. Since 2011, he has been focusing on the study of a Chinese calligraphic style that dates back to the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534), which he calls the "Hong Kong Beiwei calligraphy style". He published his findings related to the period as well as his typeface designs in A Study on Hong Kong Beiwei Calligraphy & Type Design in 2018. Chan is a winner of the DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award 2019.
