Unanimous is a study of the choreography and rules of artificial human behaviour on a massive scale. The animation is composed of over 1,000 individual agents, each of which was generated by a computer algorithm that simulates intelligent behaviour (including avoidance, following and mimicry), reflecting the seemingly endless ways in which humans can behave in a group environment. The work is an experiment in artificial life and group intelligence, and a study of how simple rules can produce complex behaviour.

Interdisciplinary artist and technologist Kachi Chan is based in Hong Kong and London. He graduated from the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong and the Barlett School of Architecture, University College London. His animation works have been presented at events and venues such as Ars Electronica, Art Basel, The Sea World Culture and Arts Center and NHK TV.
