Oi! OnSite: Have a Tree Day
Back

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department
Organised by Oi!
Artist UUendy Lau draws inspiration from the old candlenut tree and the Chinese banyan at Oi!, using narrative illustrations to imagine and depict the stories of various trees that have lived in this urban oasis over the decades, while capturing the vitality that has continuously nurtured the community across generations.
The mural and public art installation at Oi! Deck features a tree spirit as a symbol of guardianship, accompanying cross-generational stories and people, architecture, history, art, culture and everyday moments, presenting the interaction and emotional connection between humanity and our community. “Have a Tree Day” invites audiences to reflect on their connection with the natural environment and to see trees not merely as passive landscapes but as trusted companions that provide joy, protection and reassurance.
